The Class of 2017
“In the final year of the PYP, students, carry out an extended, in-depth, collaborative project known as the PYP exhibition. This involves students working collaboratively to conduct an in-depth inquiry into real life issues or problems.”
Three EHM students broke new ground this year, completing the school’s first PYP Exhibition. They demonstrated amazing tenacity, curiosity and transdisciplinary skills by designing, and then carrying out, their own learning. The team developed the following Central Idea as a framework: Making a new civilization on a new planet requires technologies. From there, they decided on Lines of Inquiry and a set of very specific questions to guide their research.
The team finished its work by deciding on appropriate Action. In this case, they felt that they should teach others, in the hope of spreading the dream and making it real. They created a presentation, and shared their ideas with EHM students and teachers, as well as with the Malaysian government and the Embassies for Japan, South Africa and the U.S.A.
Every year, a new group of EHM students will undertake this amazing journey. We look forward to seeing their unique and creative efforts!
