The EtonHouse Malaysia academic programme is developed around our beliefs about children and learning. Students are provided with an engaging and challenging range of learning experiences designed for the development of social, cognitive, emotional, physical and creative skills. Within a carefully constructed learning environment, children explore important conceptual ideas, and learn new skills. Students have multiple opportunities to communicate, collaborate, make choices, obtain and apply knowledge, and solve problems. As they develop these skills, students grow stronger in all of the subject disciplines.
The EHM academic programme is aligned with the 6 PYP subject areas:
- Language: Students learn both English and Mandarin.
- Mathematics
- Science
- Social Studies
- Arts: Students learn both Visual Arts and Music.
- Personal, Social and Physical Education
Subjects are taught through transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry, as outlined on the IB PYP page of the EHM website.
Technology is taught as a skill to be learned and used within all subjects, rather than as a separate subject.
Students who are learning English as an Additional Language (EAL) receive additional support from a specialist EAL teacher, for an additional fee. EHM classroom teachers also provide EAL support within the regular classroom.
